VCF Media was recognized with a ”Webby Award Honoree” in the ‘Sports Website’ category of this year’s Webby Awards, reflecting the club’s commitment to digital transformation in collaboration with international company 7egend. The project has included the creation of the mobile app, an increase in e-commerce and the Seat Delivery service, with the aim always to offer the best multimedia experience to Valencianistas.
Considered the ‘highest Internet distinction’ by The New York Times, the Webby Awards are the main international prizegiving organisation honouring online excellence in various categories: Websites, video, advertising, media and public relations, applications, mobile devices and voice, social media, podcasts and games. Created in 1996, the Webby Awards are presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS), and this year received 13,000 requests for consideration from candidates in the USA and 70 other countries around the world.
The jury for the prestigious awards are composed by eminent figures such as: Vint Cerf, one of the inventors of the Internet; Instagram co-founder Kevin Systrom; Mozilla president Mitchell Baker; and HBO digital director Diane Tryneski, as well as writers and editors for publications such as the The New York Times, Elle, Wired, Wallpaper, Los Angeles Times, Details, Fast Company and Vibe.
Valencia CF president, Anil Murthy, said that “We want to share this award with our fans, who are the main motive for our commitment to digital transformation as a global club, and transmit our wish to continue working to offer them the best content possible. There is even greater motive to do so in these difficult times that we must face. Together we will overcome all adversity. Amunt Valencia!”
